Conner High School opened its doors on October 15, 1970 with less than 600 students in grades 10 - 12. It was built as a result of the overcrowded conditions at Boone County High School. The school was named after the Conner family who donated the land for the school.
Since the athletic facilities were not finished at the time of the school's opening, football and basketball games were played at Boone County High School. Jerry Risch served as the first head football coach.
Conner High has established itself as a very fine educational institution. The tradition of pride, honor, and integrity, which had begun in 1970, has grown and continues in the classrooms and on the athletic courts and fields.
Today, with an enrollment over 1300, a comprehensive, fully accredited high school curriculum, extra curricular and athletic programs are a core offering of the school.
